Director AI Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Mehmet Türkmen, a sole proprietor based in Istanbul, Türkiye, the operator of Director AI (“Director AI,” “we,” “us”), the service available at directorvideo.ai. By creating an account or using Director AI, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

Director AI is built and run by a small team. These Terms are written to be read, not to intimidate — but they are a real contract, so please actually read them. The sections on uploaded photos (Section 5) and acceptable use (Section 7) matter most.

1. What Director AI is

Director AI is a chat-directed AI video studio. You describe what you want to make, and Director AI generates images, storyboards, voices, music, and video using AI models — specifically Google’s Gemini, Veo, Imagen, text-to-speech, and Lyria models, running in Google Cloud. You can upload photos of real people to cast them as consistent characters across scenes. Director AI is currently offered in US English.

AI generation is probabilistic, and sometimes it fails or comes out degraded. We would rather tell you that here than have you discover it mid-project. When a generation fails or is delivered in degraded quality, credits are returned automatically under the rules in Section 4 — including automatic 100% credit refunds for the failure types listed there, a partial credit refund for the degraded-delivery case listed there, and a guarantee that an interrupted premium video job is resumed rather than billed a second time. We do not guarantee any particular output, quality level, or that a generation will succeed on the first try.

2. Accounts

• Sign-in is through Google only. There are no Director AI passwords; keep your Google account secure, because anyone with access to it has access to your Director AI account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• One account per person. Don’t create multiple accounts (for example, to collect the free trial more than once).
• You are responsible for everything done under your account.

3. Credits

Credits are the unit you spend to generate things in Director AI. Each action (an image, a storyboard, a video clip, a render) costs a stated number of credits, shown before you commit.

• Credits have no cash value. They are not money, not transferable, and not redeemable for cash except as described in Section 4. Refunds of credits (and of money you paid) work only as described in Section 4.
• Free tier: 6 draft credits each day, plus a one-time 20-credit bonus on your first day. Free credits are use-it-or-lose-it: each new day replaces whatever is left. Free credits cannot be used for premium (Veo) video generation. Renders made on the free tier carry a Director AI watermark and a branded end-card.
• Subscription credits: each plan grants a monthly credit allotment — currently Hobby ($29.99/month, 320 credits), Creator ($59.99/month, 720 credits), and Studio ($99.99/month, 1,400 credits). New subscriptions may begin with a 7-day introductory period billed once at a lower amount ($7.99 / $8.99 / $9.99 by plan); the plan then renews monthly at the standard price above until cancelled. Subscription credits renew monthly. Unused subscription credits roll over for a maximum of one month, and your subscription-credit balance is capped at 2× your monthly allotment — credits above the cap at renewal expire.
• Credit packs: one-time top-ups — currently $10 / 100 credits, $25 / 270 credits, and $50 / 580 credits — available to current or past subscribers. Pack credits never expire.
• Spending draws down subscription credits before pack credits. Credits returned to you under Section 4 are re-credited to your non-expiring balance, so a refunded credit never expires out from under you.
• Prices and allotments may change for future purchases and future renewal periods; the price you pay is always shown before checkout. Changes never retroactively alter credits you already hold.

4. Payments, billing, and refunds — Paddle is the merchant of record

All purchases are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record — Paddle is the seller of record for your transaction, and Paddle’s buyer terms (presented at checkout) apply to it. Your payment details go to Paddle, not to us.

• Subscriptions renew monthly and bill through Paddle until you cancel. You can cancel at any time using the cancellation link in any Paddle receipt email, or by emailing support@directorvideo.ai. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access, and your remaining subscription credits stay usable, through the end of the billing period you already paid for.
• Where a refund of money you paid is warranted, it is honored through Paddle as merchant of record.
• Beyond the credit-refund cases described below and any rights you have under Paddle’s buyer terms or applicable consumer law, we do not offer discretionary refunds. If something went wrong that you think isn’t covered, write to support@directorvideo.ai and we will look at the actual event record.

How credit refunds work

• Failed generations: 100% of the credits back. If a generation errors out, times out, or is blocked by a safety system, the credits you spent on it are returned to your balance automatically.
• Degraded delivery: partial credits back. If a job completes but is delivered below the quality tier you paid for, the difference is returned to your balance automatically.
• Interrupted premium jobs are resumed, not re-billed. If a premium (Veo) video job is interrupted, we resume it. You are not charged a second time for the same job.
• Refunded credits never expire. Credits returned to you are re-credited to your non-expiring balance.
• Unspent pack credits are not silently forfeited. If the service is discontinued, or if your account is closed for a reason other than a violation of these Terms, you can request a cash refund of the unspent value of your pack credits, handled through Paddle as merchant of record.

5. Uploaded photos and likeness

This section is the heart of these Terms. Director AI lets you cast real people — often your own family — into generated video. That power comes with rules we enforce:

• Uploading is an assertion of consent. By uploading a photo of a person, you assert that it is you, or that you have that person’s permission to cast them. Director AI is a tool and you are the director: we rely on your assertion, and we do not independently verify identity. That makes the assertion yours to get right.
• Minors: you may not cast anyone under 18 who is not your own child. Full stop.
• Public figures: you may use a public figure’s likeness for private, creative work only. Content featuring public figures may not be used in anything Director AI itself publishes or promotes, and — like all content depicting real people — must never be presented as authentic (see Section 7).
• Their face, their call. If the person pictured in an upload asks us to remove their likeness, we honor the request without arguing about provenance — we do not put them through a debate about who had permission. Requests go to support@directorvideo.ai.
• Deletion cascades. When you delete an uploaded photo, the character reference material derived from it is deleted too.

6. Your content and who owns what

• Your uploads stay yours. You grant us only the license we need to run the service: to store, process, and transmit your uploads and generated media in order to generate content you request, host it, and serve it back to you (including through our CDN). We do not use your uploads in our own marketing, and we do not make your content public — the only public surface is a watch page created when you choose to share a render.
• Generated output: as between you and us, the output is yours. We claim no ownership in it, and to the extent we hold any rights in it, we grant them to you.
• An honest note on AI and copyright: the copyright status of AI-generated output is unsettled law. We cannot promise that you own a copyright the law may not recognize, or that output is protectable or non-infringing. What we can promise is that we will not assert rights in your output against you.
• You are responsible for how you use the output, including compliance with Section 5 and Section 7.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use Director AI to:

• create or attempt to create content that is illegal;
• create or attempt to create child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance; we report it as the law requires and close the account;
• create deceptive deepfakes: synthetic content depicting a real person that is presented as authentic. Creative and clearly fictional work featuring real people is what the tool is for, within the likeness rules in Section 5; passing generated content off as real footage of a real person is not;
• probe, bypass, or attempt to bypass the safety systems, rate limits, or billing of Director AI or of the underlying model providers.

8. Safety blocks and strikes

Generation requests pass through the automated safety systems of the underlying model providers (Google). When a generation is blocked for safety:

• Your credits for that generation are refunded 100%, automatically. You paid for output you didn’t get, and safety filters sometimes misfire on innocent requests — a block is not, by itself, an accusation.
• Each safety block also counts as a strike on your account.
• Three strikes within 30 days trigger a human account review before further paid generations. This is a review by a person, not an automated ban: the review can clear your account (misfires happen) or close it (patterns of trying to generate blocked content violate Section 7).

9. Service changes and termination

• Director AI is actively developed. We may change, add, or remove features, models, and pricing (pricing changes are prospective only — see Section 3).
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — in particular Sections 5 and 7 — or that follow from the review process in Section 8.
• You may stop using Director AI and delete your account at any time. Deletion of your content works as described in the Privacy Policy.
• If we discontinue the service entirely, we will make reasonable efforts to give you advance notice so you can download your content.
• Unspent pack credits are not silently forfeited. If the service is discontinued, or if your account is closed other than for a violation of these Terms, you can request a cash refund of the unspent value of your pack credits as described in Section 4, handled through Paddle as merchant of record.

10. Disclaimers

Director AI is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI outputs can be inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable for your purpose. Director AI depends on third-party providers (including Google Cloud, Paddle, Bunny.net, Cloudflare, and Neon), and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Where a generation fails, your remedy is the credit refund described in Section 4.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data; and our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to Director AI is capped at the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations. Nothing in Sections 10–11 excludes or limits any right you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded or limited by contract, and where the law does not permit a disclaimer or limitation above, it applies only to the extent the law allows.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes will be resolved in the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul, Türkiye.

Before anything formal: email support@directorvideo.ai. A human reads it, and most problems — especially billing and refund problems — resolve faster there, because every generation and refund is recorded against a specific event we can look up.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice before they take effect. Continuing to use Director AI after changes take effect means you accept them.
